Dermal Fillers

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15-30 minutes prior the treatment for additional comfort, the dermal filler is then injected in precise and safe locations into the skin. Typically a cannula is used in this area. The dermal filler is then massaged to smooth the product.

RESULTS

The result is sometimes immediate, will last about 12 – 18 months. However, due to the immediate swelling from the procedure the result will not be seen until about 2-3 weeks. A plan for regular follow-up treatments to maintain the initial result can be created for you. Our treatment provides a long-lasting, but not permanent result. This means you are in control of how you want to manage the aging process, whether that is eradicating lines completely, or simply opting for a softer look.

POST TREATMENT ADVICE AND AFTERCARE

Not only is there minimal downtime associated with this treatment, but the results are also natural-looking and subtle, with almost immediate effect. Two to three days after treatment the swelling settles and gives a great result.

• You must adhere to aftercare advice to prevent any infection occurring.​
• Using tepid water to cleanse the face for the first 48 hours following treatment and drying the area by gentle patting with a clean towel
• Ensuring that hands are always clean when touching the area treated, to avoid infections
• Not applying make-up products to the skin for the first 12 hours following treatment.
• Applying a sunscreen product with a high SPF and avoiding sun exposure
• Vigorous exercise, should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment, or as advised by your clinician
• No sauna or steam room for 2 weeks post treatment

• If you are planning to attend a special event, there may be some bruising for 7-10 days post treatment so please keep this in mind, should it occur.
• Some over the counter medicines and supplements can make you more prone to bruising, as can alcohol- which should be avoided the day before and after treatment.

NASOLABIAL FOLDS (NOSE TO MOUTH LINES)​

Prominent nasolabial folds are one of the early visual signs of ageing. Nasolabial folds can be defined as creases that extend from the edge of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

As we begin to age, we experience the loss of fat pads in the mid face, loss of collogen and naturally occurring hyaluronic acid which in-turn creates an emphasis on the nasolabial folds. To combat this, we inject a series of lines of dermal filler to restore loss of volume and promote collogen production whilst hyaluronic acid attracts and bind water to the area.

CHEEK AUGMENTATION

Loss of volume in the cheeks can have a huge impact on the rest of the face. Cheeks are a very important feature of the face. As we age the structures of our face change, this can cause the face to shrink in some places, fat and muscle descend with gravity and the skin having become thinner and less elastic, no longer ‘fits’. This leads to the formation of jowls (the sag around the chin area) and naso-labial lines/folds (the line from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth). With cheek volume loss, the face no longer has the natural youthful curves and can make you look permanently tired and saggy.

To create a more youthful appearance, cheek fillers can be used to help restore volume and revive the midface.

Replacing volume in the cheeks is therefore of high importance when rejuvenating the face. One of the advantages of treating the cheeks is that it lifts the entire face and reduces naso-labial lines. Marionette lines and jowls. Furthermore, the mid cheek can support the lower eyelid, and in many cases, adding volume to the cheeks can improve the appearance of under eye bags and hollowness.

Cheek enhancement is performed using an injectable dermal filler to temporarily improve the volume of the cheeks, increasing definition and fullness. ​

CHIN ENHANCEMENT

The chin is an often-overlooked area in facial treatments, but it can dramatically change both your frontal and side profile. If you feel you have a short, weak chin, or you simply don’t like its shape and proportions, chin augmentation using dermal fillers is a fantastic treatment that can transform your look. Can be performed as a stand alone treatment but more commonly used with lip filler services or jaw line filler.

Chin enhancement is an excellent treatment to accentuate the contours of the face. A chin that is short, recedes, is dimpled or simply doesn’t protrude as much as other features, can unbalance the face. By reshaping or volumizing the chin the facial features are then rebalanced.

Jaw Augmentation

Creating a beautiful face is an art. Whist some men may want a stronger and more defined jawline, many women feel uncomfortable with having a square shaped jaw, perceiving such as looking unfeminine. At MCS Aesthetics we treat both male and female clients who wish to either masculinise or feminise their face. For those that opt for a V-shape face we can lift from other areas on the face to define the jaw. We also offer a number of jowl altering procedures, including jaw lifts with dermal fillers or muscle relaxants to soften strong muscles causing a masculine or heavy appearance.

LIP AUGMENTATION/LIP LINES

Lips are one of the most common dermal filler treatments we perform and one that most clients will already know about. Lip augmentation allows the nurse injector to create shape, volume and definition. Tricky fine lips or M shaped lips can sometimes require additional treatment over several sittings.
Lip lines around the mouth also known as peri oral lines can also be treated with dermal fillers to soften the appearance of lip lines, dehydrated ageing lips.

NOSE FILLER (NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY)

For those of you who aren’t sure about having a surgical nose job, you may desire a non surgical rhinoplasty. Designed to smooth out dorsal humps, create a slim, contoured nose or lift the tip of the nose.

UNDEREYE FILLER (TEAR TROUGH)

Designed to treat hollowness under the eyes and dark shadowing this treatment is ideal. A very fine filler is placed under the eye, within the orbital rim to create a smother appearance, lift the hollowness and reduce shadowing. This is not ideal for any clients who experience under eye puffiness and will not help with under eye pigmentation in the skin, usually hereditary. Your nurse injector will happily assess you and determine whether you are a candidate for treatment or not.

HAND FILLER

As we begin to age, we loose collagen and fat pads. Our hands begin to show the signs of ageing with thinner skin and visible tendons and veins. Using a dermal filler we can restore lost volume and reduce the visibility of tendons and veins associated with older hands.

SKIN BOOSTERS

Hyaluronic acid and natural antioxidants to reduce the visible signs of ageing. Hyaluronic acid is a very versatile molecule that can hold up to 1000 times its own molecular weight in water which makes it ideal for adding hydration to the skin. It is injected just underneath the skin surface where it disperses quickly and reacts with own tissues to instantly boost hydration.
