Benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

Platelet-rich plasma consists of two elements: plasma, or the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body. Platelets are well-known for their clotting abilities, but they also contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal.

To create platelet-rich plasma, clinicians take a blood sample from the patient and place it into a device called a centrifuge that rapidly spins the sample, separating out the other components of the blood from the platelets and concentrating them within the plasma.

PRP can be introduced to the skin either via micro needling treatment or injection. PRP can be used for anti-ageing treatments and help with numerous skin conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loose and inelastic skin
  • Ageing skin
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Pigmentation issues
  • General scarring
  • Brown spots
  • Acne and chickenpox scars
  • Cellulite
  • Pore size
  • Under-eye bags
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin texture

Microneedling, also known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy, rejuvenates the skin, making it smoother, firmer, and more toned. Our experts will teach you micro needling techniques using derma roller and automated pen devices.

The micro needling process creates thousands of minor punctures to the skin, stimulating an abundance of new collagen cells, which are instrumental in improving skin health and elasticity. The PRP will then be massaged into the skin. Safely administered, micro needling carries little risk to the client and minimal downtime.

PRP uses your body’s own growth factors for the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself via the administration methods of micro needling and superficial injections.

Once the plasma is injected into the skin, a large amount of growth factors are released to stimulate the soft tissue regeneration for skin rejuvenation and hair loss.

PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants.
